Celebrating the One-Year Anniversary of the Publication of “We Hold These Truths”—and the Village that Made it Possible

From the desk of @theauthordavid:

Happy 1st birthday to my first-born novel, We Hold These Truths. It’s been 365 days of unimaginable self-reflection and personal growth; a period during which I met Americans of all stripes who were hungry for knowledge, their hearts still beating to the rhythm of change.

We haven’t always agreed, but we’ve been unified in our thirst to understand just what happened to 2008’s promise of hope—and how to get it back.

Thank you for the dialogue. Thank you for showing up for our politics and for the future of this nation. Thank you for embracing this work, for challenging me, for boldly facing the dark reality of our complicated American truths, and the hard work ahead of us to transform them.

I hope you’ll keep walking with me in this fight to bring the people back to power, and expose demonstration project politics on both sides of the aisle…together, we can ensure that the postscript to the Obama Era is one about which we can all be proud.

WHTT is my humble offering to the ongoing movement. I will never forget the experiences you all made possible. The harsh battle endures, but the village is strong…and the sky, as ever, is darkest just before the light.

I feel it coming. Don’t you?

Much Love,

DMitch
